Gay flamboyant
Do gay people exhibit altogether different flamboyant traits in, say, Brazil or China? I’m having a hard time finding concrete answers to these questions on Google.

Flamboyant is a term that refers to someone who attracts attention due to their style or confidence. Traditionally, it has been used as a derogatory adjective against queer men. Some queer men, however, reclaim this term.
On the phone he sounded almost stereotypical and it made me uncomfortable. I have had frequent discussions on this subject with a gay male friend of mine, and I find the topic interesting. Note: I am not, in actual fact, a gay man, although I do play one on TV.
The camp/"flamboyant" aesthetic has a long history in gay culture. Obviously you don't have to like it as a personal choice but like, is bitching about it gonna get you anywhere?.
While this fluctuates with alcohol and how comfortable I feel, usually I sound like the Marine I was trained to be. A gay colleague told me he had a hard time fitting in with the community because he hates that some gays act so flamboyant and attract so much attention. Quite a few gay couples I know refuse to attend Pride parades because they feel that gays are taking things too far.

So my college has a really large lgbtq crowd…and I have nothing against gay people. When I held his hand during the prayer I started shaking…and when he spoke it kind of caught me off guard his mannerisms. I vibe well with masculine lesbians…like there was this tomboy lesbian skater girl at aa the other night I vibed well with but the aforementioned subgroup makes me uncomfortable for some reason.
